Jody Kittle, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Jody grew up in Franklin, TN and now works as a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He has over a decade of experience in both inpatient psychiatric and neurological intensive care units along the East Coast, but he is excited to be back in his hometown providing outpatient mental healthcare services to the local community. Jody first graduated from Vanderbilt University with an undergraduate degree in Psychology (Psychopathology and Clinical Neuroscience), and he would later go on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Massachusetts – Boston. Ultimately, he returned to Vanderbilt University for the completion of his graduate studies with a Master of Science in Nursing and clinical training around multiple practice sites in the greater Nashville area. While Jody has experience with a broad array of psychiatric conditions, he spent many years specializing in providing help to those with first-break psychosis and bipolar spectrum illnesses. Additionally, his graduate clinical practicum had a large focus on addictions medicine and substance use recovery. He continues to expand his clinical expertise in his ongoing Neuropsychiatric Fellowship with Dr. Tang at the Nashville Brain Institute. As a psychiatric provider, Jody seeks to provide individualized, person-centered behavioral care through collaborative decision-making and mutual respect. He strives to cultivate intrinsic motivation and find ways to holistically improve client’s quality of life, with a mind towards health literacy and decreasing stigma in a safe and accepting space. In his free time, Jody enjoys the pursuits of video and tabletop gaming, organizing social groups for recreational activities, engaging with and advocating for the LGBTQ community, and spending time at home with his Siberian husky.
